Café Arabe
Marrakech, Morocco
The read// why locals go
Cafe Arabe sits on Rue des Moulins inside the Marrakech Medina, with a terrace that lifts you clear of the alleyways. Getting there is half the experience, since the Moulins address is deep in the old city's lanes and the building only opens up once you are through the door. The kitchen works in Moroccan territory from breakfast onwards, and the terrace is where most people end up: mint tea, a long view over the Medina roofline, and a break from the intensity of the streets below. Around 120 dirhams covers a meal. One of the few places in this part of the Medina where you can sit still for an hour.
