   La Pratique writes its menu the morning it cooks it, which is why regulars on Avenue Albert Einstein ask what there is rather than what is on the card. Stéphanie Marquet and Caroline Poitevin opened the restaurant in 2018 and kept the idea simple: seasonal French cooking that follows what the suppliers actually have, soups and quiches and plates of vegetables that change from one week to the next. The dining room is wide and full of light, with a wooden terrace outside for the warm half of the year, and the same kitchen caters events across the city. Mains land around eighteen euros.

   Matt' Burger

   At Matt' Burger the meat is ground on the premises and the fries leave the same kitchen, refilled as often as you care to ask. This is a burger counted in grams of work rather than inches of stack. The room on Rue En-Gondeau is genuinely small, a handful of tables a few streets from Saint-Roch, and it fills with people who came for one thing done properly. Regulars single out the bread, light and airy enough to hold a thick patty without collapsing, and the salads made in house alongside it. There is a vegetarian option, prices stay in everyday territory, and nothing here is arranged for a photograph.
