Moeder's means "mother's", and the kitchen takes that literally: the Dutch home-cooking repertoire, plated in quantities that assume you skipped lunch, at around €25 for a main. It is an evening place, communal in feel, and works best with a table of people who don't mind sharing elbows with strangers. Sentimental by design, and Amsterdam has never held that against it.
