Foodhallen fills a converted tram depot in Amsterdam-West with a couple of dozen independent food stalls under one roof. The building is the draw as much as the eating: steel, glass and brick from its working life, now a covered hall of small kitchens running from Dutch bitterballen to Vietnamese and Spanish counters, with bars in the middle. That variety makes it one of the easier places in the city to eat as a group with different appetites, and there are solid vegetarian options at most stalls. Around €15 a plate, and grazing across several is the way to do it.
