Eataly Torino
Turin, Italy
The read// why locals go
The Lingotto branch of Eataly is the original — the Turin building where the whole idea of a market you can eat inside was worked out. It still functions as both shop and restaurant: counters of Italian regional produce to buy, and kitchens cooking from the same shelves. The pasta, the cheese bar and the Piedmontese wine selection are where it justifies its reputation, and vegetarian options are plentiful given how much of the floor is given over to produce and cheese. Around €18 for a meal. Whatever the brand has become elsewhere, on Via Nizza it remains a weekly errand for people who live here — shopping first, lunch second.
