De Zoete Wever is Roeselare's breakfast house, where two former bakers turned a lifelong love of sweet baking into a full morning table. Marijke and Gunther run the room on Stationsplein themselves, and after more than twenty years in the bakery trade the sweet side is still the point: pancakes come with Nutella, banana, red fruit, speculaas or ice cream, flambéed at the table or as a pile of poffertjes. The oven-fresh breakfasts build from a small plate of rolls and pastries up to the generous Weverkesontbijt, and pancake breakfasts start around eleven euros. There is a buffet too, with eggs and French toast made to order, homemade granola and gingerbread. A small back room takes groups.
