   The Cabin

   The Cabin calls itself Sheffield's home of pancakes, and it means it — this is a pancake and waffle house, not a cafe that happens to serve them. It stands on Fitzwilliam Gate at the southern edge of the city centre, one room, one idea, done properly. Local food writing recommends it and the kitchen covers vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free versions, so a table rarely has to negotiate. Around nine pounds gets you a plate, and takeaway is available.
