    El Jumillano

El Jumillano has stood on Calle Luis Fontes Pagán in Vistabella since the 1950s, a bodega-tasca that the neighbourhood kept rather than the guidebooks. Its own sign says all it needs to: tapas y comidas. That is the old Murcian arrangement, where a glass of wine arrives with something fried and hot, and where a full plate follows if you want one. Vistabella is residential Murcia, a short walk east of the centre and a long way from the cathedral circuit, so the room fills with regulars who have been ordering the same things for decades. Local bar guides count it among the city's classics; the city itself just calls it Jumillano.
