   Eetcafe De Kleine

   Eetcafé De Kleine has stood on the Luttekestraat since 1935, a brown café in the middle of Zwolle that never turned into anything else. The wood, the low light and the regulars at the bar are the same ones generations of Zwollenaren grew up with, and the kitchen keeps pace with the room: honest plates for whatever moment of the day you walk in, fish, meat and vegetarian, most of them landing around ten euros. It is the kind of address locals recommend without thinking — close enough to the Peperbus to be convenient, far enough from the tourist script to still feel like theirs. Come alone with a newspaper or with six people; both work here.
