Bazar Rotterdam
Rotterdam, Netherlands
The read// why locals go
Bazar occupies the ground floor of Hotel Bazar on the Witte de Withstraat, and the room — high, ornate, permanently full — is half the reason to come. The cooking is Middle Eastern by way of Rotterdam: mezze, flatbreads and grilled plates, with North African and Turkish threads running through a menu that has fed the street's gallery-goers, students and families for years. Vegetarians do genuinely well here rather than being handed a single option, and there is terrace seating for the warmer months. Mains come in around €16, low enough that the room's grandeur never translates into the bill. One of the most reliably busy tables in Rotterdam.
