// where locals actually eat — updated September 2026

1 vetted neighbourhood spot in Münster, Germany — Lebanese, found through local word of mouth rather than a marketing budget. Every one of them is below.

  1. Phoenicia1

    Lebanese

    Phoenicia

Phoenicia has been cooking Lebanese on Steinfurter Straße for more than twenty years, and owner Khalil Karaki still runs the room himself. The kitchen makes no European compromises: this is mezze the way it is meant to arrive, a long parade of small plates built on chickpeas, lemon, garlic and char, followed by grilled meats that carry the smoke of the fire. The dining room is styled and air-conditioned, with proper table service and a wine and spirits list, so an evening here stretches comfortably. Vegetarians and vegans are unusually well served, since so much of the Lebanese repertoire was plant-based long before anyone marketed it that way. Reservations are taken by phone.

Dietary: Vegetarian options are on the menu.
