Domus has brewed its own ales on Tiensestraat since 1992 and serves them in a beer hall the size of its reputation. The house beers are the reason to come — brewed on site, poured a few metres from where they are made — and the kitchen backs them with Belgian pub food built for the same purpose, around €18 a main. The hall fills every evening with KU Leuven students and residents of the surrounding streets, and there is a terrace when the weather cooperates. In a city that takes brewing more seriously than most, Domus makes its own case rather than borrowing anyone else's.
